چکیده

The phytochemical analysis of the medicinal plants are important and have commercial interest in both research institutes pharmaceutical companies for manufacturing new drugs treatment various diseases. present study was aimed to investigate preliminary screening seeds Syzygium cumini belonging family Myrtaceae. results revealed presence medicinally constituents ethyl acetate methanol extracts it justifies their use traditional medicines different diseases.
Phytochemical investigation carried out on crude aqueous leaves (L.) antimicrobial activity extract tested against standard strains clinical isolates some bacteria using disc diffusion method. Preliminary studies flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides, steroids, phenols, saponins, terpenoid, cardiac glycosides tannins as chemical class extracts. showed inhibitory gram negative such Salmonella enteritidis, typhi, typhi A, paratyphi B, Pseudomonas aeruginosa Escherichia coli. Gram positive Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus. that more potent than extracts.

Evaluation of the antioxidant activity of Syzygium cumini leaves.

The antioxidant activity of Syzygium cumini leaf extracts was investigated using the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical-scavenging and ferric-reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. The methanolic extract and its four water, ethyl acetate, chloroform, and n-hexane fractions were prepared and subjected to antioxidant evaluation. The results showed that the ethyl acetate fraction...
